Dr. Ahmad JazzarConsultant – Gastroenterology
Dr. Ahmad Jazzar comes with a vast experience of over 23 years in the field of Gastroenterology (Esophagus, Stomach, Small Intestine, Colon, Pancreas and Liver Diseases) and Interventional Endoscopy including Upper Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography (ERCP), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Small Bowel Enteroscopy, Video Capsule Endoscopy, Esophageal Manometry, Esophageal pH monitoring and Bariatric Endoscopy including Intragastric Balloon Placement. He graduated from The University of Aleppo, Faculty of Medicine in 1987. Dr. Jazzar finished his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship Training at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, USA. He has held many positions including a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Digestive Disease Specialists of Oklahoma, Integris Liver Transplantation Hepatologist at Oklahoma Transplantation Institute in U.S.A., Assistant Professor at The University of Aleppo, Faculty of Medicine, Consultant Physician and Chief of the Gastroenterology Division at Gulf Diagnostic Center Hospital and most recently Chief of the Gastroenterology Division at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Dr. Jazzar is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine and American Board Certified in Gastroenterology. Society memberships include: Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG), Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) etc.
Dr. Jazzar has more than 100 presentations and conducted various studies with over 30 publications which includes subjects like Colorectal Polyps, Viral Hepatitis B and C Therapy, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases being a panel member of the committee that wrote and published the first UAE consensus statement on IBD therapy in the UAE, TIPS as a bridge therapy prior to Liver Transplantation, NASH Burden and therapy in the Gulf countries and Diagnosis and Therapy of Iron Deficiency Anemia in the Gulf Countries.
